Richard Stott's Words

Hi, I'm Richard. I'm a professional comedy writer turned marketer and I believe humour is the key to great marketing. 

I work with brands and individuals to develop and enhance the tone of their content with the power and fun of comedy.

 

As well as this specific superpower I have a grounded knowledge of the marketing and have used this to amass 35k followers across my social media platforms. I am also studying advanced digital marketing at LSE

About Me

I've worked successfully as a writer and performer since 2018 having my work showcased on BBC, Comedy Central and ITV but when the pandemic hit and my industry shut down I had to pivot.

That’s when copywriting found me. I began writing product descriptions and web copy for a wide range of businesses, from land clearance to pet supplies (and yes, even an undertaker). It didn’t take long to realise two things: I was good at it, and I genuinely enjoyed it. Copywriting felt familiar. Like comedy, it’s about creativity, psychology, and taking people by surprise. That curiosity led me to marketing strategy and data, which I applied to my own brand growing my audience from 5k to 35k in six months. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to formalise my skills by studying digital marketing at LSE.

 

I quickly moved onto content writing, creating blog posts and articles for thought leadership pieces and eventually landed a job writing social media adverts for a big brands.

 

I'm keen to specialise in social media advertising, where strategy, creativity, and humor all meet. I’d love to chat about how we could work together to elevate your brand.
